I'm starting a new tradition for Wednesdays. I'm calling it My Favorite Things. Play along if you want, post a link in the comments, I think it could be fun.
I'll start with a website full of useful information: Vintage Sewing.
Complete period sewing manuals to read on your computer! I want to make a 20's inspired evening dress for a Holiday party this year, and this is proving to be a great resource. And the hats, how I am enjoying the hats! I've always wanted to learn millinary techniques.
Now for something completly mundane, yet oh so useful: Dust Cloths. I know, it seems silly, but living in the country is dirty business, and our house is always dusty. I was standing in the cleaning aisle at the hardware store looking for a solution, and almost bought a cheaper cleaning cloth, but then I spotted the Genuine Mystic Maid Cleaning Cloth which claimed to be the best in the whole world. 381% Better than all the rest! It was a few dollars more, but can you really put a price on being the best in the whole world? I don't think so. And you know, I think they might just be that good. I'm going to get another one for my car, because it deserves the best too.
My favorite CD this week:
Lou Barlow, Emoh. Good grief, he does a cover of Ratt's Round and Round. You can't not like it.
My favorite lipstick, ever.
My shade? Sequin! Please don't ever discontinue it! I have six empty MAC containers to trade in for a free one tonight on my way home. Life is good.
What are some of your favorite things?
