Tonight the forecast is for a low of eight degrees F in our neck of the woods. Let me note that I am rather fond of winter for a few reasons. First, variety is nice. We lived in Tucson, Arizona for thirteen years where about 9 months of the year call for highs in the 104+ range. That's not much variety unless you count 105, 106, 107, etc. as variety. More importantly, winter provides some freedom from allergies for those that suffer from the air-born variety.
But eight degrees is pretty cold. So let's have a visual trip back to autumn, which technically it still is until December 21st.
Mid-morning back in late November over the Thanksgiving weekend, the clouds diffused the light on the hills across from our home. This hill and fence in the warm light caught my attention when I was probably supposed to be doing something else like wash dishes:
200mm, 1/80th of a second, f/11, ISO 200. I feel warmer just looking at this.
