Ok, first, as you have no doubt noticed, I changed the display theme of this blog of mine. "Why?" you might ask. Because it seems that the images present more effectively against a black background. Let me know if you disagree. I know that I risk having a site that looks very 1990s but if you stick around long enough, the 90s will be cool again. Trust me.
I challenged myself to create a good wide shot of Lamb's Canyon and I think we're getting closer. On the way home from work on Halloween, I made another trip up the canyon because I was feeling sleepy and needed some fresh air for the rest of the ride home. I also felt driven because it seems like I don't yet have a decent wide shot of this canyon.
So, I stiched three HDR images together from about 1/4 of a mile up the trail. Please excuse the watermarks as I'm still evaluating the panorama software. I'm happier with the results this time (Click the image to see a larger version):
This consists of three HDR images, each of which were generated from three raw shots for a total of 9 frames. I used HDRSoft Photomatix to first create the three HDR images and then AutoPano Pro to stitch the HDRs into a panarama. I think I like AutoPano but hear that the new version is due very soon so I'm thinking I should wait and see what it has to offer.
i like the black, of course ;-)
nice composition. i'm still trying to understand hdr.
