And Now For Something Different...

The past seven days or so have been craft days. EV designed Jack, our Jack-o-lantern for Halloween this year. We learned that there are some important techniques for how to use the sharpie to draw the pattern on the pumpkin.

Last Saturday EV and I made a night stand from some of the leftover finish lumber from the construction of our house. By the end of the day we had the wood all put together and the base paint applied. Then yesterday, EV and DD painted the night stand with a lovely garden motif.

And finally, DD has nearly finished EV's fairy costume for Halloween. We'll keep a photo of the final product for a future entry to maintain propriety. ;-)

I Never Tire of Lewis Peak

For some reason, I never tire of photographing Lewis Peak, the view to the west. This time, another fall shot:

There may be another trip to Dublin in the next few weeks and then a couple week excursion to Sao Paulo for work. More importantly, there may be a trip on the rock-and-roll road with CJ3 in early November.

Fall Leaves and First Snow

Late this afternoon we headed out to the mountains to the north for our annual "leaf peeping" excursion. This year's leaf colors were a little less coordinated than last year but still dramatic in that the first snow fell in the higher mountains.
