Contest Advice: Round 2

Thanks for everyone's votes on which photos to enter in the state fair competition. I had a look through my little collection and determined, most unfortunately, that the images that received votes would not make good prints for various technical reasons.

What I'd like to try instead is to post a couple for each category and have you, dear reader, vote for your favorite for each category. I can enter a total of three photos in various categories in the amateur division so I need your help identifying the three strongest prints.

First category: Human Interest. The idea here is to show a "slice of life," people doing something. Oh, by the way, do you mind if I enter you into the state fair, CJ3?

Next category: Portrait. Only one entry here. Should this one be eliminated to get me down to three prints? If so, nothing personal CJ3--it's the photographer's fault.

Still Life. One entry here as well. I guess this is more of a "If you have to throw one out, this is the one..." type of exercise.

Scenic: Including the Hand of Man (which is to say, the print can include human made things).

Scenic: Excluding the Hand of Man (nothing human-made allowed).

I vote to keep Before the Show, CJ3 and After the storm

I vote for Temple Bar, Dublin, After the Storm, and Summer sunset.

Ditto what Sijbrich said. I really like the strange light and mix of colors in Temple Bar, Dublin and the dramatic light dividing the mountains and sky in summer sunset. Good luck

I like Summer Sunrise. It is symbolic of a new day, or a new beginning. Even though the colors aren't as impressive as some of the others, the brightness makes up for it.
